Help ActivArmor Design Custom 3D Printed Splints for "Gamer's Thumb”
The Opportunity
The ActivArmor team has invented a new waterproof, hygienic, and fully customizable 3D printed cast/splint that fits the user perfectly and helps them recover from their injuries more comfortably. Their patent-pending ActivArmor devices are created by taking a 3D scan of the body with iPhone, and 3D printing a brace that is custom designed for that person's ideal healing and lifestyle, while allowing the user to wear it while showering, swimming, and washing/sanitizing their hands.
"Gamers Thumb" or De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis. It's the MOST common repetitive motion injury for youth and teens, causing pain in the wrist, hand, and thumb. The recommended treatment is warm water soaks and splinting/immobilization. The current splints are not sanitary or washable, and don't allow you to soak them or apply topical pain relievers, which can lead to increased pain medication use, and even addiction! The splints are not customizable and ugly. There is nothing in the market for gamers specifically, who want to live active lifestyles and express themselves with their unique colors and brands.
The Mission
Your mission is to help ActivArmor develop a custom Gamer's Thumb splint design app, and a business plan to bring it to market. The app will use ActivArmor's 3D scanning tech and allow users to choose their splint coverage area (thumb/hand/wrist), color, and to customize with their names, logos, or pictures for a bold, one-of-a-kind, functional fashion piece.
Constraints
The design must utilize ActivArmor's core 3D scanning tech.
The app should be designed for gamers or people who are experiencing "Gamer's Thumb".
the results!
