Camp BizSmart challenged young Silicon Valley entrepreneurs to design a new "Gamers Thumb" splint for Diana Hall, CEO of ActivArmor. Their mission was to design an innovative and unique real world ActivArmor custom Gamer's Thumb splint device and direct to consumer, user interface app and write a business plan to bring it to market. The app needed to use ActivArmor's3Dscanning technology and allow users to choose their splint coverage area (thumb/hand/wrist), color, and to customize with their names, logos, or pictures for a bold, one-of-a-kind, functional fashion wearable. Camp BizSmart's entrepreneur camp was held at Santa Clara University during July. Teams had two weeks to come up with their product innovation solution, work with industrial designers to bring it to life, and to support their innovation with an executive business summary and presentation pitch to judges.
The judges for the final competition were, Bill Reichert, Partner at Pegasus Technology Ventures, Paul Witkay, CEO and Founder of Alliance of Chief Executives, and John Butler, CEO, Revenue Factors.
