The Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge invites global teams of high school students (ages 13-18) to combine education, innovation and entrepreneurship, as they work together to design the future. Student teams create products/services to solve a current challenge in one of the four categories: Aerospace & Aviation, Cyber-Technology & Security, Energy & Environment, and Health & Nutrition. The competition culminates in the final round, the Spirit of Innovation Summit, held at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on April 25-28. At Summit, the top 5 teams in each category pitch their ideas to a live panel of expert judges and network with top industry professionals and students from across the globe. The top team in each category is named a Pete Conrad Scholar, the top honor of the competition.
The founders of Camp BizSmart are honored to be judges for the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge and to present a special award to Pete Conrad Scholars. As a complimentary organization we encourage students who are participating to also participate in one of the many Camp BizSmart product innovation and business pitch sessions. Camp BizSmart also encourages our students to consider competing in the Conrad Innovation Challenge to have additional opportunities to test their entrepreneurial skills.
The spikeview app was created by Ekta Sahasi, a Mom of several Camp BizSmart graduates when she saw a need and a real advantage for aspiring young entrepreneurs from around the globe to tell their stories and stay connected with each other. Camp BizSmart aspiring young entrepreneurs will be the first in the world to benefit from spikeview, or “LinkedIn for Kids” as early adopters of this great new service.
Here is how it works. You can use spikeview to build your own media rich online profile and show off your interests and accomplishments, while being confident that your data is secure and only you can decide to share your spikeview profile. Participants keep connections to their Camp BizSmart team and build a network of others like them around the world, and own a unique personal graphic profile (spikeview) of their interests and skills. It can be used to find internships, entrepreneurship experiences opportunities and exciting projects which match what the aspiring entrepreneur wants to do, and map a path to line up with college ambitions, and streamline conversations with College Admission Counselors. The goal of the Camp BizSmart spikeview partnership is to offer a platform to the next generation of idea makers and world shakers to acquire self-confidence, motivation and a growth mindset for success with “Zest, Optimism and Grit” as they acquire and develop essential skills through meaningful opportunities and are able to manage in their portfolio.
