Camp BizSmart Alumna Awarded Patent

Krithika Veerappan was a student on the winning Camp BizSmart Revolights team in 2014 and attended the BizSmart Global Product Innovation Crowdfunding Workshop in 2016. Krithika is the holder of a patent for a solar water purification invention, is in her second year at Carnegie Mellon double majoring in Computational Neuroscience and Robotics and last year studied abroad at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. Currently, Krithika is working on a health tech project with the local prosecutor’s office on the opioid epidemic sweeping America. Camp BizSmart Graduate Starts His Own Education Foundation

Pramukh Bhushan started the ECDE foundation after attending Camp BizSmart in 2018. Pramukh said: “Before the camp, I only had a big vision to help other kids. Camp BizSmart taught me how to convert my vision into reality. For example, in the camp, we created a product and a business plan for a nonprofit called New Story. My experience at Camp BizSmart taught me the skills needed to create your own company. What a great business plan competition we had at Lucas Hall on the campus of Santa Clara University last Thursday, August the 13th. Eight teams representing sponsor companies Valence Energy, Hara, Serious Materials and FRS had 15 minutes to convince the six judges, Cris Banks (Haas Business School), Brad Mattson (Vantage Point Ventures), Bill Reichert (Garage Technology Ventures), David Dembitz (Keiretsu Forum), Chris Law (Aggregate Knowledge), and Kelly Sang (Alibaba.com) that their idea was worthy of taking to market.
