What You’ll Learn
Camp BizSmart operating on Santa Clara University campus is a unique 10-day experience full of fun and learning. Students will focus on a team-based, hands-on product design and a business plan challenge specifically designed by the CEOs and founders of some of the hottest start ups in Silicon Valley. Students will defend their solutions to a panel of top executives and angel investors. The top team out of all locations will be recognized at an annual angel capital expo sponsored by the Keiretsu Forum.
Students will work in teams for the duration of the 10-day program. On day one, each student negotiates for an executive management role: CEO, CFO, CTO, CMO, CSO, CIO or VOC. Team Role Details
Each team is made up of 6-7 students. Teams are chosen on the first day of the session, following a series of activities that give students the opportunity to learn the skills, capabilities, and personalities of their potential team members.
What to Expect
Be the first young aspiring entrepreneurs to use the first-of-its-kind artificially intelligent mobile app called BizSmart Coach that puts you in charge of your leadership skill and ability development. Students will spend days 1–9 working with their team to create a concept design and writing a business plan.
On day 10, teams compete for 1st place as they present their plans and concepts to a panel of investors and entrepreneurs. Then, the afternoon is a celebration showcasing student team designs, giving and the presentation of graduation certificates. How to win and lose with grace. The benefit of persistence to achieve goals. Graduation, celebration, recognition of the winning team and the “ZOG Award”. ZOG stands for: Zest – Optimism – Grit; essential qualities that researchers believe are indicators of future success.
Skills & Ability Development:
- Growth Mindset
- Design Thinking
- Problem Solving
- Character: Knowing the right thing to do
- Courage: Doing the right thing
- Citizenship: Teaching someone else about doing the right thing
Please note: Attendance is mandatory for all 10 days. This is a team-based competition, and everyone plays a vital role. Teams with absent members would find it extremely difficult to succeed.

Airport arrival and departure transportation services for residential students MUST BE arranged by parents with the service of their choice that best meets their needs. One service that specializes in transportation for young people is Kids Kab. Kids Kab is run by the owner-operator, Liz Marino who may be reached at (408) 342-0100. This is not the only option and parents should select the transportation service that best suits your needs.
It is important that Camp BizSmart be informed of your student’s arrival time at the airport so that we can anticipate when they will arrive at Santa Clara Housing. We also need to know their departure schedule for the airport at the end of Camp BizSmart and to know when transportation services are scheduled to pick them up. Please send your student’s flight arrival and departure information and who you arrange ground transportation with to Geeta Ajmera, Director Student Admissions and Logistics.
Residential package includes tuition, housing and three meals a day. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the Santa Clara campus. Please call us directly at (408) 477-2279 with any questions or for additional details concerning this option.
