Keiretsu Forum honored the 2015 Camp BizSmart Top Team of student entrepreneurs, Leap Insole, on stage at Keiretsu Forum’s 21st bi-annual Northern California Angel Capital Expo on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Microsoft, 1065 La Avenida Street in Mountain View, California. Peggy Gibbs, COO, Cofounder of Camp BizSmart introduced the student team and Randy Williams, CEO and Founder of Keiretsu interviewed the students on stage.
Each year the top team from Camp BizSmart’s Silicon Valley California summer sessions vie to be named the top team out of sessions that run at Stanford University, Santa Clara University and Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s Conference Center in San Mateo hoping to be the team that will be honored at the Keiretsu Forum’s Angel Capital Expo in November.
Keiretsu has been a valued sponsor of Camp BizSmart since 2008 and provides a great opportunity for the aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their product innovation and receive valuable feedback throughout the day from the more than 200 entrepreneurs and angel and venture fund investors at the event.
The day was filled with pitches from entrepreneurs hoping to be voted most valuable company. Keiretsu welcomed Dr. Astro Teller, Captain of Moonshots at Google X, as the keynote speaker with Tim Enger of Microsoft Ventures as a guest speaker. Dr. Teller currently oversees Google X, Alphabet’s moonshot factory for building magical, audaciously impactful ideas that through science and technology can be brought to reality.
Tim Enger is an entrepreneur and Marketing & Business Development Executive and is now focused on building Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in Seattle. Tim Co-Founded SocialNexus, Inc., a firm focused on a number of ventures nationally and internationally with a focus in Brazil.
Angel Capital Expo is the premier gathering of the angel capital community, bringing together investors and entrepreneurs looking for funding. Angel Capital Expo is organized by Keiretsu Forum, the world’s largest angel investment network, and was created to foster collaboration among angel groups, as well as reach out to the larger investment community.
