Keiretsu Forum, the world’s largest angel investment network, announces its Silicon Valley Angel Capital Expo on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 from 11:30am to 7:00pm at Microsoft, 1065 La Avenida Street in Mountain View, California. Angel Capital Expo is the premier gathering of angel investors and entrepreneurs seeking funding capital to grow their businesses.
On November 21st more than 300 of the Bay Area’s most active and respected angel investors will attend the Expo. Among the angel investors and entrepreneurs will be seven young people who earned the honor of being the Camp BizSmart top team for 2013 in the product design and business plan competition which was held at Microsoft and where hundreds of students gave their most passionate pitch, while displaying their product innovation and business solution to angel investors. In addition, to the winning team Camp BizSmart founders, and many of their executives, sponsors, advisors and partners will attend to honor these remarkable young people.
Keiretsu Forum has been a Strategic Partner of Camp BizSmart since 2007 and sponsors the annual grand finale winning team at this prestigious event as well as ongoing entrepreneurial pitch and skill development events throughout the year. These events provide invaluable ways for Camp BizSmart alumni to continue to increase their business, entrepreneur and success factors. It is well known that persistence, optimism and grit are necessary to succeed in both a career and in life and Camp BizSmart students have the opportunity to continue to develop and strengthen these personal skills both at Camp BizSmart and events such as this one.
This years’ top team is Sprell, who came up with the top winning product innovation representing sponsoring company, mOasis. Team members are: Shiv-Louis van de Ven, Jonanthan Vasquez, Ian Tseng, Steve Jiang, Nisha Khater and Shivanee Arun.
Each year Camp BizSmart selects two in the news, award winning companies who provide business cases. Student teams create new product innovations to address a unique emerging market niche for the company. For 2013, students’ selected from business cases provided by mOasis, mentored by Marty Reed and Ekso Bionics, mentored by Brendon St. John. These executives challenged student teams to think out of the box and create a convincing new product innovation and go to market strategy. A product rendering is created by Los Gatos industrial design company, WAGIC, based on concept sketches and interviews with the team. Student business plan and concept design becomes part of student portfolio’s when applying for awards, board or club positions and college applications.
The Keiretsu Forum’s Angel Capital Expo provides a full day of student’s entrepreneurial skill development as well as networking with hot new start-up founders. They get to observe first-hand how these entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to gain essential mentoring from angels and the potential of being named the most valuable company. “This is a real world, in the moment learning laboratory that provides priceless skill development to our students.” said, Mike Gibbs, CEO, and Co-Founder of Camp BizSmart and BizSmart Global.

Each entrepreneur will make a 15-minute presentation and will be available for additional discussion and due diligence at their exhibitor booth throughout the day. Following the presentations, the attendees will vote and award the top three presenting companies the “Most Valued Company” award.
