Santa Clara University: June 24–July 7, 2018
Santa Clara University: July 22–August 4, 2018
Stanford University: July 23–August 3, 2018

What You’ll Learn

Camp BizSmart operating on Santa Clara University campus is a unique 10-day experience full of fun and learning. Students will focus on a team-based, hands-on product design and a business plan challenge specifically designed by the CEOs and founders of some of the hottest start ups in Silicon Valley. Students will defend their solutions to a panel of top executives and angel investors. The top team out of all locations will be recognized at an annual angel capital expo sponsored by the Keiretsu Forum.

Student Teams

Students will work in teams for the duration of the 10-day program. On day one, each student negotiates for an executive management role: CEO, CFO, CTO, CMO, CSO, CIO or VOC.

Each team is made up of 6-7 students. Teams are chosen on the first day of the session, following a series of activities that give students the opportunity to learn the skills, capabilities, and personalities of their potential team members.

What to Expect

Be the first young aspiring entrepreneurs to use the first-of-its-kind artificially intelligent mobile app called BizSmart Coach that puts you in charge of your leadership skill and ability development. Students will spend days 1–8 working with their team to create a concept design and writing a business plan.

On day 9, teams compete for 1st place as they present their plans and concepts to a panel of investors and entrepreneurs.

Day 10 is a celebration showcasing student team designs, giving and the presentation of graduation certificates. How to win and lose with grace. The benefit of persistence to achieve goals. Graduation, celebration, recognition of the winning team and the “ZOG Award”. ZOG stands for: Zest – Optimism – Grit; essential qualities that researchers believe are indicators of future success. One student will be chosen for the “Courageous Leadership” award given to the student who has shown the most progress and leadership skill development while using the BizSmart Coach mobile app. Although it’s not formally part of our schedule, students should expect to spend time working virtually with their team after hours. We’ve found that this extra time really helps teams refine their solution, further build collaboration skills, and practice their presentation.

We’re excited to announce a residential option on the beautiful Santa Clara University campus. Check in on Sunday, July 8th after 3pm and check out on Saturday, July 21st before 10am for a total of 13 nights. Availability is very limited and we expect the housing to go quickly. This is a unique opportunity for your aspiring entrepreneurs to live on campus at one of the premier universities in the world.

Airport arrival and departure transportation services for residential students MUST BE arranged by parents with the service of their choice that best meets their needs. One service that specializes in transportation for young people is Kids Kab. Kids Kab is run by the owner-operator, Liz Marino who may be reached at (408) 342-0100. This is not the only option and parents should select the transportation service that best suits your needs.

It is important that Camp BizSmart be informed of your student’s arrival time at the airport so that we can anticipate when they will arrive at Santa Clara Housing. We also need to know their departure schedule for the airport at the end of Camp BizSmart and to know when transportation services are scheduled to pick them up. Please send your student’s flight arrival and departure information and who you arrange ground transportation with to Geeta Ajmera, Director Student Admissions and Logistics.
