Xicato – Camp BizSmart 2017 Product Innovation Partner

Menko DeRoos, CEO and Cofounder of Xicato, has been an avid supporter and advisor of Camp BizSmart for several years.  This year we asked him to provide a new challenge to our students creating a business case that would challenge them to think outside the box about how we interact and use lighting. Not only did he provide a business case for our Classic Camp BizSmart students, he also worked with our Camp BizSmart Alumni Accelerator, creating with our executive staff a hands-on makers lab to take a product design innovation case to the point of an actual prototype. Hydrobee – 2017 Camp BizSmart innovation Partner

    Burt Hamner, who is well known for using hydro-energy to create power, has created a new product, Firebee.  Now you can make electricity from the chimney on your stove or fireplace to power phones, LED lights, and even air blowers for improved combustion.   Burt challenged our students to improve upon his initial product designs to come up with innovative ways to increase the viability and marketability to a wide range of users who had no access to electrical power. Camp BizSmart Launches Entrepreneur Academy at Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN

By: Baylor Pillow This June, Baylor School will have the honor of hosting Camp BizSmart, a camp that inspires young entrepreneurs from ages 11-15. The camp will take place from June 11-24 and will be a residential camp. Camp BizSmart was founded in 2007 and has been mentoring young entrepreneurs since 2008, but the summer of 2017 will be Camp BizSmart’s first camp east of the Mississippi River. Keiretsu Forum to Honor Camp BizSmart 2016 Grand Champion Team, Atmoband, at Angel Capital Expo Held at Microsoft SV, November 17, 2016

Congratulations goes to the Camp BizSmart grand champion team, Atmoband, whose team members are: CEO, R.J. Faltinsky; CFO, Max Stengel; CMO/VOC, Nirmik Tambe; CTO, Anh Nguyen; CSO, Beatrice Mihalache; and CIO, Anushka Narasani.   The Atmoband team selected the Atmotube product innovation case to solve out of four possibilities, and came out on top following the five Camp BizSmart competitions held at Microsoft, Silicon Valley this past summer.  They will be honored on stage at the Keiretsu Forum’s Angel Capital Expo on November 17, 2016, at Microsoft, 1065 La Avenida Street, Mountain View, CA.  Keiretsu has been  a strategic innovation partner of Camp BizSmart since 2008. Camp BizSmart 2016 Grand Champion, Team Atmoband, Announced for Silicon Valley Sessions

The excitement has been building and the moment is finally here to announce the Grand Champion Team from among the five teams who finished first in the five competitions this summer at Camp BizSmart in Silicon Valley. While all of the first place winners brought something unique to each of their competitions, the team that rose above all the others was: Team Atmoband, from the July 4-15, 2016 session which was held at Santa Clara University and led by Camp Director Marla Zemanek.
